Bill Camp

Bill currently leads Intel's work in supercomputing as CTO of high performance computing. Previously, he was director of computation, computers, information and mathematics at Sandia National Laboratories, where he worked on massively parallel processing and founded the Massively Parallel Computing Research Laboratory in 1992. Bill also headed Cray Research's Applications Technologies business and served on the design team for the T3E and follow-on scalable vector computers. At Intel, he is concentrating on many-core processor and system level architectures for the path from peta-scale to exa-scale computing. Bill received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College and completed a Ph.D. in mathematical and computational physics at Cornell University.

Matt Fates

Matt has worked with emerging technology companies since 1996. Prior to joining Ascent in 2002, Matt worked in business development at Gold Wire Technology, a network configuration management software company. Before Gold Wire, Matt served as an Investment Analyst in the Boston office of Norwest Venture Partners where he worked on venture investments such as Broadband Access Systems (acquired by ADC Telecom), Gold Wire Technology (acquired by Intelliden), and COSpace (acquired by InterNAP). He also worked in technology investment banking at Alex. Brown & Sons, where he helped execute both equity and M&A transactions, working with companies such as BBN, CIENA, DSET, RSA Security and SwitchBoard.com. Current investments include HubCast, Interactive Supercomputing, StrikeIron, Terascala and The Corporate Marketplace.

Ed Kania
Ed is Managing Partner and Chairman at Flagship Ventures. Prior to co-founding Flagship Ventures, he spent 14 years as General Partner of OneLiberty Ventures and of its predecessor firm, Morgan, Holland Ventures. Previously, he served as an Investment Officer at First Capital Corporation of Boston, the venture capital subsidiary of Bank of Boston, and, previously, as Research Associate at Harvard Business School and as General Manager at J. Cunningham, Inc. He is a frequent speaker on venture capital and entrepreneurship. Throughout his professional career, Ed has operated both as an investor and as an active partner to entrepreneurs in company building. His direct investment experience covers over 100 companies. In addition, he has been intimately involved in the launch and development of more than a dozen companies as the founding, lead or co-lead investor, and on occasion has assumed operating roles in support of management. Several of these companies are now publicly traded while others have been acquired by significant publicly-traded companies. Ed also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harbinger Partners, a non-profit organization that provides information technology solutions for other non-profits.

Ed Roberts
Ed is the David Sarnoff Professor of Management of Technology at MIT where he long chaired the Sloan School's Management of Technological Innovation & Entrepreneurship research and education programs. He co-founded and co-chaired until 1999 the MIT Management of Technology Program, and co-directed the School's International Center for Research on the Management of Technology. Over the past 45 years Ed has become known for his studies and active involvement in many aspects of technology management, including technology strategy, corporate venturing, product innovation management, and technology-based entrepreneurship. He spearheaded the MIT Alumni Entrepreneurship Seminar Program which led to the formation of the MIT Enterprise Forum which he co-founded, and founded and chairs the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. Ed has been a co-founder of 8 emerging technology companies and a director of numerous others (including Pugh-Roberts Associates, Medical Information Technology (Meditech), SofTech, Advanced Magnetics, Inverness Medical Technologies, Pegasystems, PR Restaurants, Sohu.com, and NETsilicon) as well as Zero Stage Capital. He also advises several high-tech startups, and has authored over 160 articles and 11 books.

John William Poduska, Sr.
Bill was a founder, V.P. of Research and Director of Prime Computer; the founder, CEO and Chairman of Apollo Computer and Stellar Computer; the Chairman and CEO of Stardent Computer formed by the merger of Stellar and Ardent; and was the Chairman of the Board of Advanced Visual Systems Inc. (AVS). He has also held the positions of director of the Honeywell Information Systems Center, Chief of the Man Computer Systems Branch of NASA's Electronic Research Center, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, and 1st Lt. US Army Signal Corp. His awards include the McDowell Award of the IEEE and the MIT Corporate Leadership and Distinguished Industrial Achievement Awards. Bill was also chosen as Arthur Young Venture Magazine's Master Entrepreneur in High Technology, and was inducted into the Institute of Entrepreneurs, both in 1987. Bill is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He serves on the Board of Directors of Novell, Safeguard Scientifics, Anadarko Petroleum, EXA Corporation, AnyStream, Inc. and several non-profit organizations. Dr. Poduska holds a Sc.D. from MIT and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Lowell University.

Bill Strecker
Bill is a General Partner at Flagship Ventures, and serves as Interactive Supercomputing's Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Flagship, he served as Senior Vice President, Technology & Corporate Development and CTO of Compaq Computer Corp. Before that, he was with Digital Equipment Corporation for 28 years in various executive and senior technical positions, most recently as SVP Corporate Strategy & Technology and CTO. Bill is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and has received the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) W. Wallace McDowell Award for outstanding contributions to the Computer Art. He is a past board member of CMGI, holds 16 U.S. patents, and is the author of numerous technical publications. Bill currently serves as Director of Flagship portfolio companies IntelliVid, Interactive Supercomputing, Maptuit and SiCortex, and he works closely with Kovio and Revivio.
