The Star-P open software platform delivers revolutionary results to scientists, engineers and
analysts by enabling them to transparently use high performance computing resources, using familiar
desktop tools such as MATLAB®, Python, R and many others.
Within most R&D organizations, domain-expert scientists,
engineers, and analysts are typically the ones who work with
VHLL programming environments to develop new models and algorithms.
HPC programming expertise is usually not part of their skill
set. However, the increasing scope of required simulations
forces the domain experts to go beyond what they could traditionally
do within the desktop-based VHLL environments.
Star-P enables VHLL programmers to:
- Expand the size of problems
well beyond the desktop capabilities
- Expand the computational tools
well beyond the functions included in the VHLL environment’s
arsenal
- Speed up computation through
the use of parallel computing on clusters of multicore servers
as well as hardware-based accelerators
- Optimize the capabilities of
your VHLL computing through the addition of libraries that
are right for your task
- Monitor performance and behavior
of the expanded computational environment
- All that while operating interactively
from your familiar desktop/laptop VHLL user interface
